RECYCLE YOUR UNWANTED LATEX PAINT
REBUILDING TOGETHER AND BROOKFIELD PAINT/LAVOIE INTERIORS PARTNER TO HELP HOMEOWNERS DISPOSE OF UNWANTED/HALF USED PAINTS BY GIVING THEM NEW LIFE AS A RECYCLED PRODUCT FOR LOW-INCOME HOMEOWNERS.
 
On Saturday, June 14th, from 10AM until 2PM Brookfield Paints will be accepting donations of latex paint at the store located at,  797 Federal Road, Brookfield.  Jenifer LaVoie Tonnesen of  Brookfield Paint & LaVoie Interiors described the project which will done in partnership with Rebuilding Together Litchfield County and the Animal Welfare Society(AWS)  as a win-win deal, everyone benefits.  Homeowners will donate their unwanted latex paints and clean out their closets and garages, Rebuilding Together homeowners will have the recycled paint to do spring redecorating, and in addition the AWS will be receiving donations of Nutro canned/dry dog food, rawhides and dog/cat toys from the homeowners dropping off their unwanted latex paint. 
 
 Ceia Webb, Director of the Litchfield County Rebuilding Together affiliate said that because paint was being donated for use by their organization, a donation receipt would be given to all persons dropping off latex paint at Brookfield Paint/LaVoie Interiors on Saturday the 14th, from ten until two o’clock only.’
 
Rebuilding Together, the nation’s leading volunteer home rehabilitation organization since 1988,   volunteers ensure that the elderly and/or handicapped occupants can remain in their home and continue to live independently in a safe and warm environment.  Projects include everything from fixing broken windows to replacing tubs with handicapped showers, building ramps, to clearing lawn debris and providing materials for repainting and clean-ups...

Animal Welfare Society, Inc is an independent, non-profit, non-destroy organization founded in 1965.  Our mission is to aid and find loving, permanent homes for abandoned, stray, and abused cats and dogs in New Milford, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Roxbury and Washington, Connecticut.   AWS also makes trips to New York City’s overpopulated dog pounds and brings their animals to our shelter in New Milford.
